Outside Sales Representative – Edmonton
Osborne Recruitment is delighted to partner with our client, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, to engage with candidates who possess prior experience in fire protection, industrial, mechanical, oil and gas, and water/wastewater facility products. We are seeking a talented professional who will be responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships and have a solid understanding of computer software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field visits and attend industry events to build close relationships with key decision-makers among both existing and prospective customers.
- Address customer or client issues by collaborating with inside sales, credit, and warehouse teams.
- Develop and implement follow-up strategies for specific projects and ongoing client engagement.
- Consistently meet and surpass sales targets while providing accurate sales forecasts.
- Serve as a liaison for customer service, quotes, and dispute resolution, ensuring strong relationships between customers and the company.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with both new and existing customers.
- Prepare and review sales forecasts for the upcoming year, collaborating with the Regional Manager to evaluate results on a monthly basis or as required.
- Plan and organize territory calls and routes to maximize sales opportunities.
- Identify, target, and secure new customer accounts.
- Monitor customer creditworthiness, reporting any discrepancies to the credit department and Regional Manager.
- Represent the company at trade shows and sales events as needed.
- Assist with order desk duties as required.
- Prepare and generate required reports as requested.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in customer service or sales, ideally within the mechanical/industrial pipe, valve, and fitting sector.
- Proven ability in business development.
- College diploma in Sales/Marketing, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Specialist, or a related field.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with reading blueprints are considered assets.
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Capability to communicate the technical aspects of products clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based applications.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel daily, with occasional overnight stays as required.
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are essential.
