National Communications Lead

Toronto, ON – Full-Time | On-Site

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic National Communications Lead to support the organization’s national marketing and corporate communications efforts. This role is a key contributor to shaping brand voice, strengthening messaging, and supporting high-impact communications across Canada’s largest automotive group.

Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing & Communications, you will lead major internal and external communication initiatives, guide national storytelling, and support brand visibility across campaigns, events, and corporate programs. A significant part of this role involves supporting client-facing communication -ensuring the organization presents a unified, polished, and consistent voice to external stakeholders. This includes preparing speeches, remarks, talking points, pitches, and scripts for dealership openings, corporate announcements, events, and community initiatives.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional partners, community organizations, agencies, and regional teams to ensure all communication touchpoints are aligned, strategic, and impactful.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Communications & Brand Messaging

  • Lead the development of national communication strategies aligned with brand, marketing, and corporate priorities.
  • Drive messaging consistency across all platforms, ensuring a strong and unified brand voice.
  • Develop tailored communications for diverse audiences, from internal teams to senior leadership and public stakeholders.

Content Development & Public-Facing Messaging

  • Write and edit content for digital, social, print, and internal channels.
  • Prepare speeches, talking points, presentations, and scripts for leadership at dealership openings, announcements, and public events.
  • Support media relations by drafting press releases, managing media requests, and contributing to PR campaigns.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with internal teams to support national initiatives, launches, and campaigns.
  • Coordinate with external agencies, vendors, and community partners to execute communication plans.
  • Contribute to Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives through messaging, partnership coordination, and community engagement support.

Brand & Program Support

  • Develop and review proposals, pitches, and communication materials that support brand development and ongoing initiatives.
  • Ensure brand consistency, alignment, and quality across all national and regional communication outputs.
  • Serve as a communications subject-matter expert, providing guidance to internal stakeholders and regional teams.

Qualifications
Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations.
  • Strong background in campaign development, multi-channel communication, and agency collaboration

Education

  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.

Skills

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
  • Experience preparing speeches, talking points, and high-level public-facing communications.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, results-focused environment.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and comfort working with cross-functional partners.
  • Strong communication skills with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Bilingualism in French (spoken and written) is an asset.

Compensation: $90-$100k
